About the Competition

We’d be delighted for you to join us to celebrate 100 Years of John Deere tractors at the home of John Deere in Europe, the Mannheim tractor works. Owned by John Deere for more than 60 years it was originally the head office of the Heinrich Lanz Company which produced the first crude oil powered tractor, the Lanz Bulldog, in 1921. Today John Deere’s 5 and 6 Series tractors are produced here for export worldwide at one of Europe’s biggest and most modern tractor factories.

Prize winners will enjoy accommodation for two on June 15-16, 2018 in Mannheim. On the evening of the 15, there will be a special anniversary dinner and the opportunity to meet John Deere personnel at the John Deere Forum. On Saturday 16 there will be an open day at the tractor works and a parade of vintage John Deere and Lanz tractors.

We’d also love you to join in the parade on Saturday and bring your own classic John Deere or Lanz tractor. We’re unable to cover the cost of transporting it to Mannheim, but what we can guarantee is it will be given a warm welcome by enthusiastic tractor fans!
